After five intensive training days with 1718 test kilometers in the Tatuus-Abarth F4 from Jenzer Motorsport in Misano, Imola and Barcelona, nothing stands in the way of Jasin Ferati's next career step. The 2019 German Electric Kart Championship champion is venturing into formula racing at the age of 16 and will contest the Italian Formula 4 Championship and the opening race in Spain with the Swiss team as a rookie this year.

Jasin Ferati: "I've been dreaming of sitting in a Formula race car for ten years. For this reason, Formula 4 is something very special for me. I'm extremely happy to be able to gain a foothold in real motorsport and I'd like to thank Andreas Jenzer for the trust he's placed in me. The changeover has not been difficult for me. I was well received and immediately felt at home with him."

A new racing helmet was also needed. Jasin Ferati is proud to be able to take the step into car racing at 16.

Respect for the entry
Jenzer Motorsport has been one of the most successful teams in Italy for years. The goal of the new Swiss driver in the Lyss team is to learn everything there is to learn in formula racing as quickly as possible.

Jasin Ferati: "The last three of the ten years in karting have been very intense and exciting. The fact that I was able to conclude them with overall victory in the fiercely contested DEKM was very special and made me extremely happy. Now I'm approaching the challenging next task at a much higher level with respect and confidence."

Springboard to the top
The Italian Formula 4 Championship uses standardized chassis from the Italian manufacturer Tatuus and 1.4-liter Albarth turbocharged engines with a good 160 hp. The current champion is the Norwegian Dennis Hauger. His predecessors were Enzo Fittpaldi, Marcus Armstrong and Lance Stroll, who all made the leap to higher categories.

Highlights of the 2019 season and an insight into the Formula 4 Italia shows the short video.

The races will be held at well-known Formula 1 circuits such as Monza, Imola, Spielberg and Budapest, with the tried-and-tested format of three races per weekend. Ferati has set himself ambitious goals: He wants to improve continuously, finish in the points soon and end the championship in the top 10.

Before the race starts in Monza in April, Jasin Ferati will prepare with Jenzer Motorsport at further test drives.
