Jaguar: With a top speed of 320 km/h, the world championship title is the goal 🎥
TECHNOLOGY PUSH With the new I-Type 6, Jaguar aims to win the 2023 Formula E World Championship. Technical highlights include powerful brake energy regeneration, which eliminates the need for hydraulic rear brakes.
Jaguar TCS Racing has unveiled its new all-electric race car, the I-Type 6. The new car will be used in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, which kicks off the new Gen 3 era as early as January 14 in Mexico. The I-Type 6 is the most efficient electric Jaguar race car ever.
For the first time, the bolide has a second electric motor on the front axle. Together with the rear-axle motor, the I-Type 6 can recover up to 600 kW and thus twice as much energy as the previous Gen 2 car. As a result, the more compact and even more agile Gen-3 race car can dispense with rear-wheel brakes. Because the new race car now delivers a maximum output of 350 kW and weighs 74 kilograms less than its predecessor, it reaches a maximum speed of 320 km/h.
Four e-racers with Jaguar power on the grid
Jaguar TCS Racing enters the 2023 season with a new livery design that is a combination of carbon black, satin white and gold accents. Thanks to the mirror-image color scheme, it creates two individual designs for drivers Mitch Evans and Sam Bird. A sign of continuity and consistency is the fact that Jaguar's driver lineup has remained the same for the third consecutive season.
At the championship start in Mexico City, four Formula E racers will be on the grid with Jaguar power for the first time, because in addition to the I-Type 6, Jaguar Racing is also equipping the two cars of the English team Envision Racing.
Still a test bench for practice
The next generation of Formula E will continue to be a test bed for Jaguar TCS Racing and Jaguar Land Rover. While developing new cutting-edge technology to succeed in the world championship, the team will deliver valuable transfers for series development in the areas of electric powertrain, sustainability and software solutions.
