Indian Motorcycle, the first American motorcycle manufacturer, announced its 2020 Scout model line. In particular, two new models, the Scout Bobber Twenty and the Limited Edition Scout 100th Anniversary, will pay tribute to the 100-year legacy of the Indian Scout.
Special model limited to 750 copies
Reid Wilson, vice president Indian Motorcycle, said, "The Scout has stood the test of time as one of the most influential, iconic and recognizable motorcycles in the world. 100 years is a special milestone, and it makes sense to honor the Scout's history and legacy with these two Scout heritage-inspired 2020 models."
In 1919, Indian announced the world's first Scout with the 1920 model year. To celebrate the Scout's 100th anniversary, Indian Motorcycle has designed the Limited Edition Scout 100th Anniversary, a model with collector potential that is limited to 750 units worldwide.
Indian Motorcycle Red paint job
The Anniversary Special Edition is modeled after the original Scout and features an eye-catching Indian Motorcycle Red paint job with anniversary gold trim and color-coordinated Scout 100th Anniversary badging. A Desert Tan genuine leather solo saddle, black wire-spoke rims, beach-bar handlebars, luggage rack and chrome finishes round out the heritage-inspired Throwback design.
Homage to the original 1920s Scout
The addition of "Twenty" to the Scout Bobber Twenty model designation pays homage to the original 1920s Scout, as do some of the bike's unique features, including wire-spoke rims and a cantilevered saddle.
The 2020 Scout Bobber Twenty offers a sleeker old-school bobber look with improved ergonomics. The model also features a classic mix of chrome and blacked-out finishes, 10-inch ape hanger handlebars, and it's available in three colors: Thunder Black, Sagebrush Smoke and Burnished Metallic. Important functional improvements
All Scouts have been upgraded in key features, including floating caliper brakes with new calipers and master cylinders for improved braking performance. All Scout Bobbers are equipped with the new Pirelli MT60RS tires.
For riders who want to tour on their Scout, Indian has a selection of practical accessories on the shelf to go on extended rides sometimes.
New quick release fairing
Available for all model years of the Scout and Scout Sixty is a color-matched quick-release fairing with a 2-inch windshield that can be swapped out for either a 5-inch or 7-inch windshield. To round out the touring package, riders can add a Solo luggage rack (in chrome and now gloss black) and Solo luggage bag.
