Hotz: Two victories in the Ligier Eigenbau

The sports car championship for private drivers organized by Pedrazza Racing (PRC) from Vorarlberg is slowly running out of participants. Together with the P9 Challenge and Special Touring Car Trophy, which focus on touring cars and GT vehicles, the Lausitzring nevertheless saw a respectable field with a fairly mixed performance.
Small but mighty
With the Onroak Ligier Turbo (based on Peugeot) developed at Horag Hotz Racing in Sulgen, Benjamin Hotz captured pole position for both races. His two opponents in Division 2 were no match for the Thurgau native.
The question was rather whether and for how long Hotz would leave the two competitors from the big division behind. On the long straights, Peter Kormann (PRC Audi Turbo) and Max Aschoff (Ginetta G58 LMP3) were able to exploit their performance advantage. Answer: They didn't succeed for long.
Beaten competition
In the first run over half an hour, the eastern Swiss took the lead from Aschoff, who had won in Spielberg at the beginning of the season, after seven laps. He then rushed to overall victory with a lead of more than a minute over the entire field.
Hotz led the second heat already after the starting corner, where Aschoff was a tad too late on the brakes and had to drive over the grass. Aschoff and Kormann thus had to admit defeat twice, achieving first and second place in their class once each.
No right of way for the lady
Far behind Hotz, Michael Obrist (Wolf GB08 Honda) and Jasmin Fiedler (PRC S4 Honda) fought for second place in Division 2. While the second Swiss in the field was able to win the duel in the first race, it was closer in the second race. The fast lady was ahead until half-time before Obrist passed her on the ninth lap.
