Honda looks back on a strong motorsport year with the Civic Type R TCR, which brought victory in 14 major championships and 65 race wins. The foundation of the success is the standard Civic Type R and JAS Motorsport, Honda's long-time technical motorsport partner.
Victories around the world
The season started with drivers' and teams' title successes for René Münnich and ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport in the TCR Middle East and continued with title wins in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
The individual highlights include eight race wins in the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) for runners-up Esteban Guerrieri, Nestor Girolami and Tiago Monteiro. Added to this is the class win at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Victories at Daytona and Sebring in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge were claimed by LA Honda World Racing, while Michelle Halder celebrated the first victory by a woman in TCR Germany and won the 2019 Junior Cup.
In operation for almost two years
The current Honda Civic Type R TCR made its first racing appearance at the 2018 Dubai 24 Hours. It now stands for 17 major titles and 110 race wins.
