Four weeks after the race in Seewen, which was held in almost wintry conditions, the best summer weather prevailed on June 2 at the round of the Intercantonal Slalom Championship (IKSM) of the Squadra Türmli in Hoch-Ybrig. With 34 gates over a length of just under 900 meters, a lot of steering wheel work and skillful handling of the pedals was called for by the participants.
Even though his sports car is predestined for fast tracks, Dino Wintsch punched the best running times into the asphalt with his Lotus Exige 430 Cup.
Dino Wintsch: "I prefer faster courses, but it was good practice and fun."
Bernhard Brägger's short film shows how last year's IKSM runner-up mastered the course at the Weglosen valley station in Unteriberg:

Experimental
Turi Füchslin came closest to the day's winner in a more agile and lighter Caterham Super Seven from the L4 to two liters. In the addition of the two fastest from three runs, he was only 1.12 seconds short.
Third overall and winner of LOC2 was Noa Schmid in the Subaru BRZ Turbo. The leader in the IKSM 2019 had last taken the day's victory in Seewen. While Wintsch drove with road-legal semislicks, Füchslin and Schmid, like others from the L2 to L4 classes, used treadless racing tires. Schmid also experimented with 50 kilos of ballast in the trunk plus a full tank to get more weight onto the rear of the drive axle. In return, the car lost maneuverability.
Internal fight of the Suzuki riders
In terms of numbers, the participants from the Suzuki Swiss Racing Cup made a strong appearance, practicing for their next championship run as part of the SM in Romont (June 15) and also fighting for good points towards the ICSM 2019. Of the previous top guys, only Muzzarelli, Fehr and Eggenberger were missing.
Christian Zimmermann won the L1 over 2001 cc just ahead of Simeon Schneider, Mario Diethelm and Gilbert Denzer. Almost as fast was Ralf Henggeler with his Suzuki Swift Sport as winner of the L4 up to 3000 ccm.
The brilliant finale was then set by Simeon Schneider in Mario's Plausch Cup. On the track, which had become grippier towards the end, he drove the same car almost three seconds faster than before and relegated Zimmermann and namesake Daniel Schneider to the places.
In the intermediate ranking of the IKSM 2019, Noa Schmid and Dino Wintsch lead the table with 300.00 points each after four runs, deducting one strike result.
Simeon Schneider showed how fast a standard Suzuki Swift Sport can be.
