The new main sponsor will give the American team its name from 2019: Rich Energy Haas F1 Team. The colors of the leading British manufacturer of an energy drink are black and gold, in which Lotus once also appeared, most recently with Romain Grosjean from Geneva as one of the drivers.

Gene Haas himself continues to advertise his company Haas Automotive with gray lettering on the flanks of the Haas VF-19.

Wider and higher wings
The example of the 2018 show car presented in 2019 livery shows the most important changes to the technical regulations for the upcoming season. The less complex front wing that has already been fitted is now 20 centimetres wider and two centimetres higher.

At the same time, the rear wing has also been simplified. It is now also two centimeters higher and five centimeters wider on each side. Both measures are intended to help following drivers in the slipstream close up and then overtake more easily.

The overall width of the vehicle is two meters. The minimum weight including driver must not be less than 743 kilograms.

The engine - still a 1.6-liter V6 turbo with 15'000/min. Like the entire transmission, the steering and the cockpit instruments, it comes from Ferrari. The shock absorbers come from ZF Sachs.

HaasF1 drivers 2019: Kevin Magnussen, Pietro Fittipaldi and Romain Grosjean.

Pietro Fittipaldi in the colors of his grandfather Emerson
As in 2018, the regular drivers are Romain Grosjean from Geneva, who drives for France, and Kevin Magnussen from Denmark. The official test driver is Pietro Fittipaldi, the grandson of former world champion and IndyCar champion Emerson Fittipaldi. The Brazilian won his first world championship title in 1972 in a black and gold JPS Lotus, which brings us full circle.

The 2019 tests for all teams begin on February 18 (until the 21st) in Barcelona. The second round of testing is again in Spain from February 26 to March 1. The 2019 GP season begins on the weekend of March 16-17 in Melbourne, Australia.

Emerson Fittipaldi drove Lotus to his first world championship title in 1972.
