The highlights of race 1 show the winning drive of Feller and Mies.
On June 19, Ricardo Feller with Emil Frey Racing's Lamborghini Huracán managed a win and a second place in Zandvoort in the GT World Challenge Europe after setting the best time in qualifying together with Alex Fontana.
It does not get better than this
Last Saturday, the 21-year-old from Aargau showed his speed again in the same way on the dune circuit, this time with the Audi R8 LMS from Land Motorsport and the German Christopher Mies as his partner.
Feller laid the foundation for his first win of the season in the ADAC GT Masters or German GT Championship with his good start from pole position. The Swiss stayed in front and maintained his lead until the pit stops despite two short safety car phases.
As in the most beautiful dream
After the driver change, Mies returned to the track in second place, but the now leading Lamborghini team had made a mistake, received a sport penalty and dropped back.
Christopher Mies and Ricardo Feller deservedly clinched the first victory of the season in the ADAC GT Masters for Audi and for Team Montaplast by Land-Motorsport with a lead of 2.6 seconds.
Ricardo Feller: "Three weeks ago, I already drove to pole here in another series and took the win. I didn't dare dream that I'd manage that again this weekend. To manage that in the ADAC GT Masters is a mega achievement. We scored important points for both the overall standings and the Pirelli Junior standings."
First podium for Ineichen
A collision through no fault of their own and a resulting retirement ended their hopes of scoring more points on Sunday. Instead, two other Swiss drivers rejoiced. Raffaele Marciello from Ticino, who starts for Italy, and Maximilian Buhk took second place this time in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 after winning the opening race at Oschersleben.
Lucerne's Rolf Ineichen and Frenchman Franck Perera finished third in the best-placed Lamborghini Huracán to claim their first podium of the season. Ineichen also won the Pirelli Trophy classification for non-professionals.
Jeffrey Schmidt from Liestal and his German partner Marvin Kirchhöfer finished fourth with the Corvette C7 GT3-R from Callaway Racing. On the previous day, the winners from the Red Bull Ring also scored good points in seventh place.
A well-rehearsed long-distance trio
On the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, Frédéric Yerly was the outstanding Swiss driver in the two 4-hour races for the VLN endurance series at the weekend.
For the third time in a row, Andy Gülden, Matthias Wasel and the Freiburg native, who has made his home in Aargau with his family, secured victory in the SP3T class with the VW Golf GTI TCR of Max Kruse Racing Yerly.
Frédéric Yerly: "To win the class twice in a row is something very special. The weekend just went really well and it was a lot of fun again. Thanks to everyone in the team."
Zero for Mortara, few points for Buemi
The two races of the Formula E World Championship in the Brooklyn borough of New York ended with the victories of Maximilian Günther on BMW on Saturday and Sam Bird on Jaguar. The Briton took the lead in the standings with his second win of the season.
This was held in front of him by Edoardo Mortara. However, the Geneva native did not score any further points in the USA. On Saturday, a defect in qualifying had relegated him to the back row of the grid, and on Sunday he lost positions due to a minor collision. As a result, Edo slipped to fourth place in the standings but remains in contention for the world title.
In the tenth round of the World Championship on Saturday, Sébastien Buemi on Nissan achieved his best result of the season so far with sixth place. At times, the driver from the canton of Vaud was in third place. On Sunday, he did not finish higher than P15.
