The highlights from the first GT championship round at the Lausitzring show Feller/Mies' commanding start/finish victory while there was turbulence behind them.

Pole position, fastest race lap and first place in the end: Ricardo Feller and Christopher Mies could not have presented themselves better in the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring on Saturday, September 11.

Optimal preparatory work by Feller
Unimpressed by all the turbulence on the track and a race interruption, the duo in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 from Land Motorsport confidently completed their laps at the front and secured their second victory of the season in Saturday's race.

Ricardo Feller immediately took the lead of the field and did not relinquish it until the driver change, as did his partner Mies later on.

After a perfect day that started with him securing pole position, the 21-year-old from Aargau had every reason to be happy.

Ricardo Feller: "In the race we were able to defend the lead well from the start. I was able to drive a good pace in my stint without putting too much stress on the tires. Chris drove the car safely to the finish after the pit stop. Sitting outside and watching during the final phase was clearly more nerve-wracking than sitting in the car myself. But I trust Chris blindly, and he then drove home the win strongly."

At the top of the table at the halfway point of the season
On Sunday, Feller and Mies had to show their teeth in return. Starting from position 6, it became close for the two Audi duos as early as on the first lap. The Swiss proved his talent again in the second half of the race and thrilled the spectators at the track and in front of the TV with a duel worth seeing.

After a tough duel with championship rival Mirko Bortolotti, Feller brought the Land Audi home in 6th place. Thanks to the strong points haul in the two mid-season races, Feller/Mies took the top spot in the standings with 107 points and a lead of three points.

New runners-up in the standings are Raffaele Marciello and Maximilian Buhk on Mercedes-AMG. The Ticino driver, who starts for Italy, finished third in the first race and fourth in the second. Of the other Swiss, only Rolf Ineichen with partner Franck Perera (F) on a Lamborghini scored points with eighth and seventh places and two wins in the non-professional classification.

Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2021 German GT Championship season will be held at the Sachsenring from October 1-3.

Yerly team remains undefeated
At the seventh VLN round at the Nürburgring, Frédéric Yerly celebrated his sixth consecutive class victory on Saturday. Since race 1 was cancelled in the spring, the man from Freiburg remains unbeaten this year in the SP3T of turbos up to two liters with the VW Golf GTI TCR of Max Kruse Racing. As in the three previous 4-hour races, his team partners were the Germans Andy Gülden and Matthias Wasel.

Other Swiss winners in the 6-hour race were Ranko Mijatovic and Yann Zimmer on BMW 330i (VT2 class), Marco Timbal, Ivan Reggiani and Nicola Bravetti on Porsche Cayman GT4 (AT-G) and the Swiss-German team Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport with Schrey, Piana and Fischer in BMW M240i Racing Cup.

As in the 24-hour race in June, the overall victory went to the Porsche 911 GT3 R from Manthey Racing with Michael Kristensen and Kevin Estre.
