It was the perfect day for Jeffrey Schmidt. Already in qualifying for Saturday's race on the Czech circuit of Most, the 24-year-old from Liestal showed his class in the form of the fastest time. He thus secured the first pole position in the ADAC GT Masters for himself and his new team BWT Mücke Motorsport.

Jeffrey Schmidt: "I could have gone a maximum of half a tenth of a second faster, and that's really very close to the perfect lap. I didn't expect to set the fastest time myself. Because when I pitted, there were still seven minutes on the clock. So it's all the nicer that no one else was able to beat my time."

The key to victory
With a spotless start to the first race, he defended the top position. With a lead of around four seconds, he handed the pink GT3 sports car over to his partner Stefan Mücke after around half an hour, who remained in front after the driver change.

The Berliner also didn't show any signs of weakness until the end of the hour. So both celebrated their first victory in the ADAC GT Masters at the first guest appearance of this racing series in the Czech Republic.

Jeffrey Schmidt: " We knew that the start would be the key to victory. I had strong opponents next to and behind me in the form of BMW and Corvette, both of which have more power. We had the perfect setup for our Audi. It might have looked easy, but in this dense field with such strong drivers it's never easy to win."

Ricardo Feller on the junior podium again
With 30 kg of success ballast, it was only enough for 18th place on the grid in qualifying for the second race on Sunday, which the duo turned into ninth place after another impressive drive. After this successful weekend, Schmidt is in fourth place overall and third in the Junior standings.

His Mücke teammate Ricardo Feller finished seventh with Christopher Haase in the second race, which is the 17-year-old from Aargau's best result to date. In second place, Feller was allowed to stand on the separate podium, as he did at the season opener in Oschersleben.

Apart from Schmidt and Feller, no other Swiss players scored points in the must.
