The fifth round of the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship, the fourth this year, was due to take place on March 21 in Sanya in the Chinese province of Hainan. In consultation with the FIA, the Formula E organization and the local authorities in China, it was decided to cancel the event. A sensible decision.

If the coronavirus is contained in the foreseeable future and the situation eases, there will be an alternative date.

There is also discussion in Formula 1 circles about canceling the Chinese GP. The fourth round of the 2020 World Championship is scheduled for the weekend of April 17-19 in Shanghai.
