The third Berlin race on Saturday evening was the most turbulent so far. For once, António Félix da Costa was not in the lead from start to finish.

Last year's dethroned champion Jean-Eric Vergne and António Félix da Costa gave Team DS Techeetah a historic one-two victory. The 28-year-old Portuguese driver can therefore no longer be displaced from the top of the standings in the remaining two races.

Da Costa is the only driver to have scored points for three different Formula E teams. This title win is the highlight of his career to date.

BMW interrupts DS winning streak
In Saturday evening's race, the first of three on the traditional track layout at the former Berlin-Tempelhof airport, Maximilian Günther initially secured second place on the grid and then took the lead with a late overtaking maneuver against Jean-Eric Vergne, who had been leading until then.

The German BMW works driver crossed the finish line with the narrowest lead in Formula E history ahead of the onrushing Robin Frijns (Envision Virgin Racing). BMW i Andretti Motorsport thus interrupted DS Techeetah's 24-hour winning streak, which began at the end of February.

The closest finish in Formula E. Günther crosses the finish line in the BMW iFE.20 with a lead of 128 thousandths over Frijns in the Audi FE-06 from Envision Virgin Racing.

Buemi wants to be runner-up again
The best of the four Swiss drivers on both days was once again Sébastien Buemi in the Nissan IM20. After narrowly missing out on the points in eleventh place on Saturday, the man from Vaud finished third on Sunday evening, which was his third podium of the 2019/20 season.

Sébastien Buemi: "I could even have finished second, but I missed the braking point once and thus caught up with the front-runners. Third place for me and fifth for Oliver (Rowland) is a great result that has moved us up to second place in the team standings. We now want to secure this position this week."

The highlights of Race 4 in Berlin show how Vergne drove to his first win of the season and Buemi to his third podium.

With a 13-point deficit to Vergne, who has moved up to second place in the interim standings, and 60 points still up for grabs, Buemi still has every chance of finishing runner-up in fifth place. A year ago, he only managed this in the two final races.

Last chance for the Swiss rookies
Nico Müller stormed from the back of the grid (23rd) to twelfth place in the private Penske EV-4 of Geox Dragon Racing on Saturday. Neel Jani was involved in an accident in his Porsche 99X Electric and retired. On Sunday, both were far behind the top ten.

Wednesday and Thursday on the new circuit in Berlin-Tempelhof will be their last two chances to at least finish their disappointing first Formula E season with a few points. If not, they will appear in the season statistics with nothing but zeros or retirements.
