Formula E normally takes place on a street circuit. In Mexico City, however, the race takes place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Formula 1 also made a guest appearance on the same circuit in November 2015, although the Formula E cars will be racing on a shortened, 2.092-kilometre version of the track.

Renault e.dams driver Sébastien Buemi prepared himself on the simulator. "I also studied the track layout that we received from the FIA. This is obviously not the same as being on the track, but it gives us the opportunity to learn it," explained Buemi. In addition, both the set-up of the car and the communication with the engineers play an important role in order to be successful and further improve the Renault Z.E.15.

Communication is crucial
In the race, good communication is crucial for the driver's strategy. "Energy management is one of the biggest challenges in Formula E. This makes constant communication with our engineers during the race all the more important," said Buemi.

Since the start of the second Formula E season, Renault e.dams seems to be doing this best: The team dominated the first four rounds and is also one of the favorites for the upcoming race weekend. Buemi travels to Mexico as the leader of the championship standings, four points ahead of Audi driver Lucas di Grassi. Renault e.dams leads the team standings with 101 points
