Formula 4: Swiss young talents go full throttle - Part 1

In 2015, a total of 51 up-and-coming talents ensured 24 exciting races in the ADAC Formula 4 season. Seven of them come from Switzerland: Giorgio Maggi, Lucas Mauron, Moritz Müller-Crepon, Marylin Niederhauser, Nico Rindlisbacher, Nikolaj Rogivue and Alain Valente. AutoSprintCH introduces you to the first four young talents. Giorgio Maggi Maggi described his year as "tricky": "I had honestly [...]

Giorgio Maggi
Maggi described his year as "tricky": "To be honest, I had clearly set my sights on more. The fact that I changed teams between the Lausitzring and the weekend at the Nürburgring, for example, was a big challenge."

Nevertheless, Maggi took a step forward in his development. "I developed further in 2015, especially on the technical side, and am able to give my mechanics and engineers better feedback. And of course you also get better with every kilometer you drive," said the 18-year-old, summing up his first season. In the coming season, Maggi has his sights set on the Formula 3 European Championship, but "could also imagine a future in the sports car sector."

Lucas Mauron
Mauron concentrated on Italian Formula 4, but made a foray into German ADAC Formula 4 at the Red Bull Ring, finishing eighth in the third race to collect four points in the championship. Mauron's plans for 2016 are not yet known.

Moritz Müller-Crepon
Müller-Crepon noted at the end of his first Formula 4 season: "Apprenticeship years are simply not men's years." He regrets how the season went: "It's a shame we couldn't make more of it, because I had many good chances to score points. All in all, though, I'm satisfied with my first Formula season." Müller-Crepon will compete again in ADAC Formula 4 in 2016, with Van Amersfoort Racing - AutoSprintCh reported.

Marylin Niederhauser
Niederhauser also learned a lot in her first year in formula racing. "I wanted to learn as much as possible after moving up from karting. I managed to do that well and it also showed in my lap times. Just the difference between my first and last race is a very big one. Over the course of the season I made a significant improvement," she explained.

The 20-year-old does not yet know where Niederhauser's path will take her in the 2016 season. "But I will probably drive another year in ADAC Formula 4," Niederhauser said.
