The Drexler Automotive company from Bavaria will act as the main sponsor in the former Remus Formula Cup from 2019. Company founder Herbert Drexler had supported the privately organized formula racing series in previous years and initially created a separate classification for German drivers. Last season, this classification was extended to include drivers who use a Drexler Automotive transmission in their Formula 3 cars.

Remus retreat
After the company Remus (specialized in sports exhaust systems) had declared its commitment to be terminated, there were various discussions between organizer Franz Wöss and Drexler. In the meantime, all detailed questions regarding this cooperation have been clarified, so that nothing stands in the way of continuing the private championship for drivers with older Formula 3, Formula Renault and Formula 4.

The series is now called the Dexler Automotive Formula Cup. With the races at Monza, Red Bull Ring, Most, Mugello, Brno and Hungaroring, six events are currently on the calendar for 2019. A seventh event is to be added.

Successful Swiss
The most successful drivers in the Remus Formula Cup came from Switzerland. Thomas Amweg and Sandro Zeller won the title several times. Zeller most recently in 2016 to 2018.
