At his Formula 3 debut on the Masaryk Circuit in Brno, Czech Vaclav Safar, driving for GT2 Motosport, captured pole position for both races in a Dallara F308 Opel. These counted for the Remus Cups and the FIA Central European Zone (FIA CEZ).

Zeller wins after race abandonment
However, Sandro Zeller, who had previously been crowned Remus champion, struck back at the wheel of his self-prepared Dallara F306-VW immediately after the start and led the 32-car field, consisting of Formula 3, Formula Renault, Formula 4 and Formula Abarth, for several laps.

As the slower cars closed in, Safar struck and overtook the man from Zurich. Just at this point, a Formula Renault blocked the track. This led to the abandonment of the first run. Since in such a case the last completed lap counts for the classification, the victory went to the Swiss.

13 victories in 14 races
In the second race, Sandro Zeller again got the better start. Vaclav Safar stayed with the old and new Remus champion for a long time, but lost more than three seconds by the time the chequered flag fell.

Sandro Zeller's season was impressive: he won 13 of the 14 championship races!

Second best Swiss in the Czech Republic was Kurt Böhlen on a Dallara F309-VW from the team of organizer Franz Wöss with places 4 and 6. Marcel Tobler drove his Dallara F308-Mercedes to places 6 and 7.

In the championship, Tobler finished third and Böhlen fifth with only five instead of seven race appearances.

Only Böhlen was allowed to win once
In the Horag Swiss Formula 3 Cup for drivers from Switzerland, too, the order is Zeller ahead of Tobler and Böhlen. The latter is the only driver to have won a race in this classification at Monza.
