As expected, the Italians performed strongly on their home track, but were unable to prevent another victory for Sandro Zeller. Already in qualifying, Zeller prevailed with a best time of 1'47.729 and a lead of 0.305 over Alessandro Bracalente.

With the crowbar
In the first race, despite two safety car phases, it looked like the Zurich driver would win in the Dallara F306-VW he prepared himself. However, the Italians brought out the crowbar on the last lap.

Zeller was initially slowed down by Bracalente before the second chicane and had to swerve to the right. This place had been claimed at this point by his pursuer Riccardo Perego, who then hit the Swiss on the right rear wheel.

Perego retired and Zeller was able to continue. As a result of this scuffle, the Zurich driver was subsequently given a questionable 25-second penalty by the race stewards. This threw him back to 13th place. Perego, who caused the incident, got off scot-free.

Second behind Bracalente, his compatriot Andrea Cola decided the Remus Cup classification in his favor. Kurt Böhlen climbed the overall podium in third place and best-placed Swiss.

For the fourth place Marcel Tobler, Antonino Pellegrino and Renato Papaleo delivered a great fight, in which the Thurgauer kept the upper hand after 14 rounds.

Successful revenge by Sandro Zeller
In the second race, Sandro Zeller drove home his fifth win of the season. While Bracalente was unable to start, Riccardo Perego and Kurt Böhlen took over the chasing role this time.

The Italian finally prevailed just ahead of Böhlen after a tough duel in which he briefly pushed the Swiss into the grass during his overtaking attempt. The Bernese thus climbed the overall winners' podium twice.

Wedding first
Most recently, Böhlen was absent from Spielberg because he had planned his wedding long before the date at Whitsun - we offer our belated congratulations! Because he no longer has a chance in the championship, he will not be making the long trip to the Lausitzring.

In fourth place, Antonio Pellegrino from the Jura achieved his best result so far in this international Formula 3 championship for privateers. Marcel Tobler finished seventh. Urs Rüttimann in another Dallara from Jo Zeller Racing finished 8th and 10th.

The Italo-Swiss Antonino Pellegrino achieved his best Formula 3 result to date with the Twister Italia team.

The defending champion is on course for the championship again
After three events and six races in three different countries, defending champion Sandro Zeller is again on course for the championship. In the main standings (Remus Cup), the driver from Oetwil has 126 points, ahead of Tobler (79) and Cola (74).

In the Swiss Formula 3 Cup supported by Horag Racing, the order is Zeller (135) ahead of Tobler (99), Pellegrino (81), Böhlen (76) and Rüttimann (42).
