Florian Thomas can't complain about a lack of racing in 2019. It's quite possible that more will be added, as his team is at home at the Nürburgring (Photos: PROpeak perfomance).

The switch from the TCR category to GT4 is already paying off for Florian Thoma - at least in terms of expected driving time. His start with India's Akhil Rabindra on an Aston Martin Vanta in the GT4 European Series was announced two weeks ago.

The 23-year-old from Berne will now also contest the newly launched ADAC GT4 Germany for the team from the Eifel region, which has since been renamed from PROsport to PROpeak Performance. His partner here is Jérémie Lesoudier. The Frenchman, who turned 23 on March 14, comes from the French Porsche Carrera Cup.

A GT4 test vehicle from Aston Martin Racing in England was available in Barcelona.

Promising test drives in Barcelona
Last week, the team's five GT4 drivers, who have been confirmed so far, turned countless laps during four days of testing in Barcelona. Afterwards, the Swiss went into raptures.

Florian Thoma: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge of taking part in two race series. It's a hammer program with a lot of races and a lot of driving time. Jérémie and Akhil are just as ambitious as I am. I was enthusiastic about the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 right from the start. The test drives were a promising start."

With GT3 and TCR
After the inaugural event as part of the ADAC GT Masters at Oschersleben (April 24-26), the new ADAC GT4 Germany will hold its rounds at the Red Bull Ring in Austria (June 7-9), Zandvoort in the Netherlands (August 9-11), the Nürburgring (August 16-18), Hockenheim (September 13-15) and the Sachsenring (September 27-29). The TCR Germany will also be on the grid on these weekends.
