When the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup kicks off the 2021 season at the end of May, a promising trio of drivers from Fach Auto Tech will be on the grid. On the spectacular street circuit in the Principality of Monaco, Christopher Zöchling, Marius Nakken and Maxime Boulin will take to the wheel of their new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup based on the 992 model for the first time.
Team boss Alex Fach: "Successfully contesting the eight races in eight different countries requires driving skills, of course, but also a lot of experience. We have found this mixture in our driver trio. Christopher, Marius and Maxime combine talent and the necessary know-how. So we can start the new season with confidence."
Team instructor becomes a regular driver
A familiar face brings precisely this know-how to the team: Christopher Zöchling already drove for the team from Schwyz in 2015. The driver and team have been closely linked since their joint debut success in the one-make cup.
In the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse, the Austrian also acts as an instructor for Alex Fach's team. The 33-year-old is very much looking forward to the collaboration.
Christopher Zöchling: "I think it's fantastic that we're starting together in 2021. I'm very excited to see how the new Porsche will drive. Good results and points are my expectations for the season."
Experienced Norwegian
With Marius Nakken, another former driver joins the team from Sattel. In 2019, the Norwegian competed for the satellite team "Team Project 1 - Fach" in the Supercup. In 2021 he will contest his fourth season in the international one-make cup.
With his experience and an extra dose of fighting spirit, Nakken hopes to prevail in the competitive field.
Marius Nakken: "Competing for the team again means a lot to me, because the 2019 season showed that we speak the same language in terms of sport."
French racing family
The 24-year-old Frenchman Maxime Boulin completes the lineup. Motorsport is a family tradition for the Boulins, who have their own race track, the Circuit Pau-Arnos in southern France.
Maxime Boulin: "Fach Auto Tech is not only powerful on the track, but also an enthusiastic motorsport family - that convinced me. The opportunity to take part in such a demanding championship is also a chance for me to demonstrate my skills. I'm particularly looking forward to the start in Monaco."
Eight GP stations
In 2021, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will compete exclusively at European Grands Prix. It will kick off in Monaco from May 20 to 23. Further stops on the calendar are Le Castellet, Spielberg, Silverstone, Budapest, Spa-Francorchamps and Zandvoort. The crowning finale takes place in Monza in September.$
