As the founder of the Fach Auto Tech racing team and an entrepreneur in the automotive sector, the 54-year-old has been involved with racing vehicles since 1984. The use of bio-based fuels in the approximately 500-hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup models opens a new chapter in the company's history.
Potential of synthetic fuels
Alex Fach: "The automotive industry is in a state of upheaval. This poses many dangers, but also all the more opportunities. It is obvious that we need alternative drive concepts. Here, it is important to think in different directions and also to exploit the potential of synthetic fuels."
Motorsport is a pioneer in the development
This is also the motivation for starting the race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria with a special design. A mountain landscape adorns Christopher Zöchling's Porsche to promote the use of eFuels and underline the green project.
Oliver Schwab, who, as project manager of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, plays a key role in the introduction of renewable fuels: "The commitment of Alex Fach and his team is an important signal for the series. The past has shown often enough what a pioneering role motorsport can play in the development of future technologies."
