Fabian Eggenberger doubles
At the third round of the 2016 Suzuki Grand Prix at the Interlaken airfield, it remained dry at least in the race runs under threatening rain clouds. Fabian Eggenberger set a best time on the 4.3 km circuit that none of his twelve Suzuki colleagues and the other class rivals came close to matching. While the Zurich rider improved again in the second [...]
While the Zurich native improved by another second in the second run, Sandro Fehr, in third place in the first run, improved by almost three seconds, overtaking Bruno Bleiker, who was only slightly faster. With a difference of 1.12 seconds, Eggenberger and Fehr also ensured a double victory for the Suzuki Swift Sport in the L2 class up to 1600 cc. Bleiker remained third fastest Swift driver ahead of Heiko Leiber, Gilbert Denzer and Rolf Plattner. Andreas Saner, on the other hand, did not run smoothly at all. After a goal error in the first run, he also failed in the second attempt and was thus only the eighth-best Suzuki driver, clearly behind Andreas Grubert.
Patrick Flammer was able to deliver his best performance so far in the field of the Swiss championship in the class E1 up to 2000 cc. An improved chassis setting on the Suzuki Swift Evo 2000 already had an effect with the fifth best training time, which he confirmed in the first race run. With a gap of just under 1.5 seconds and some space to the rear, even third place was now within reach. Flammer took advantage of this opportunity after a run repetition and realized the third-best time - thus the first podium in the SM class, which is the strongest with 26 cars, was a fact.
