Emil Frey Racing: Premiere with Ferrari 296 GT3 🎥
NEW CAR At the fourth DTM event next weekend, Emil Frey Racing will start with the new Ferrari for the first time. The Nürburgring is always good for a surprise, especially due to the capricious weather conditions.
Emil Frey Racing's debut in the DTM has been like a roller coaster ride so far. At the season opener in Oschersleben, the team secured third place in the premiere race. Most recently, however, the team experienced a bitter disappointment at the Norisring. Now it's off to the fourth round at the Nürburgring from August 4 to 6. The sprint track for the DTM races measures 3.6 kilometers. On the Nordschleife, the Ferrari 296 GT3 recorded victory in the 24-hour race in its still young career.
Challenge for the team
Technical Director Jürg Flach: "Nürburgring won't be easy because we don't have a paid session and haven't been able to test with the new Ferrari on this track so far. Unlike the Norisring, however, the Nürburgring is a normal race track that also includes disciplines such as medium-fast and fast corners, which suit the Ferrari."
First qualifying on Saturday
The Emil Frey Racing Team completed two 45-minute free practice sessions today, Friday, August 4, at 11 a.m. and 2.45 p.m.. The first qualifying session will then take place on Saturday morning at 09.35. The cars will duel as usual for the first race at 13.30. The second qualifying session will take place on Sunday morning from 09.05. The start of the second race will be at 13.30.
Team Principal Lorenz Frey-Hilti adds, "As a team, it's always special to contest the Nürburgring race. Especially this year, as we will be starting with the Ferrari 296 GT3 for the first time." One can be curious,
