Emil Frey Racing: Also in the DTM with Ferrari

DOUBLE POWER In the new season, Emil Frey Racing will compete not only in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Series but also in the DTM with two Ferrari 296 GT3s. With Thierry Vermeulen, there is also a new entry to report.

The 2023 season comprises eight DTM race weekends and five GT World Challenge Europe Sprint dates. For the season opener at Brands Hatch, the Emil Frey Racing team will be entering two Ferrari 296 GT3s for the first time. EFR had already announced the brand change from Lamborghini to Ferrari in January.

Team boss Lorenz Frey-Hilti (gallery on the left): "The driver lineup consists mainly of drivers who are familiar to us and who have a good mix of many years of experience and young talent. With Thierry Vermeulen, we were able to win a young, very talented pilot supported by Red Bull for the 2023 racing season."

Number 14 at the start in all races

The car number #14 remains the same in the new season and will be used in all races of the season. It will be driven by the Italian Giacomo Altoè and the Finn Konsta Lappalainen in the GT World Challenge. In the second car, number 69, the Spaniard Albert Costa and the Dutchman Thierry Vermeulen (right gallery), who has recently joined the team, will share the wheel. At the eight DTM races, Englishman Jack Aitken will start with the traditional number 14, and team newcomer Vermeulen will drive number 69.

Thierry Vermeulen is ready for the new season: "I'm looking forward to my first season with Emil Frey Racing and want to achieve the best possible result for my team in the thirteen races. I would like to finish the season with a good result at Hockenheim."
