In the 2020 season, the Emil Frey Racing team finished on the podium a total of seven times. The Safenwil-based team thus managed fifth place overall in the GT World Challenge Europe and third place in the Sprint Championship.

Increased demand
Both Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Emil Frey Racing appreciate the expert partnership, which allows both parties to look to the future with optimism. The two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO cars were continuously developed during the short winter break.

Because there have been more and more requests from highly competitive drivers who want to race for Emil Frey Racing, a third sports car can be entered thanks to the factory's support.

This is how Emil Frey Racing and Lamborghini Squadra Corse imagine the ideal situation: A start from row 1 like at Zandvoort - and then victory.

A pure Swiss trio
In the #163, Spaniard Albert Costa and Austrian Norbert Siedler will contest the sprint and endurance races. The young Italian and Lamborghini factory driver Giacomo Altoè will be the third driver in the endurance races.

The Lamborghini with the #14 features an all-Swiss driver constellation this year. Ricardo Feller, who already delivered a commanding performance in 2020, will now contest all ten championship rounds over short and long distances.

Alex Fontana from Ticino, who was already part of the team in 2018 during Jaguar times, has also secured a regular place. As the third driver, Rolf Ineichen will support them in the cockpit of the #14 in the endurance races. The Lucerne native is an experienced Lamborghini driver and is regarded as one of the world's fastest gentleman racers.

Three new faces in the cockpits
The Lamborghini, which will make its debut with the starting number #114, will be entrusted to three new drivers. The best known is Williams F1 replacement driver Jack Aitken, who raced in Formula 2 in recent years and made his GP racing debut at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix as a replacement for George Russell.

The 25-year-old with British-Korean roots will contest the sprint and endurance races with Finn Konsta Lappalainen. The 19-year-old Scandinavian won the 2018 Northern European Formula 4 Championship and subsequently gained experience in FIA Formula 3.

The trio is completed by 21-year-old Arthur Rougier. The young Frenchman won the Formula 4 Championship in 2017 and occupied third place in the French GT4 Cup Pro-Am class in 2019.

Now it's time to hit the slopes
Emil Frey Racing and its drivers are preparing for the 2021 racing season with private test drives and the official test days in Le Castellet (F) on March 25 and 26. The aim is to start the season with a representative vehicle performance and a well-coordinated team.

The season opener is scheduled for. Monza (IT) from April 16 to 18 represents the first of a total of ten race weekends and, taking into account the current situation, will probably be held without spectators.
