The 90-second video shows Robert Kubica at the DTM test in mid-December in Jerez, whereupon his commitment with BMW for the 2020 season became apparent.

In Formula 1, the 35-year-old Pole sits on the bench at Alfa Romeo Racing/Sauber Motorsport, but in the DTM he will soon be competing with the best touring car drivers in Europe. ART Grand Prix is fielding a BMW M4 for him. The number of Munich cars alongside three each from BMW Teams RMG and RBM thus grows to seven.

New career stage
The former BMW Sauber F1 driver and last year's Williams F1 driver has long been attracted to the DTM. He really got a taste for it during the test in Spain.

Robert Kubica: "I'm really looking forward to the start of this new phase in my motorsport career. For me, the DTM is one of the strongest and best racing series in the world. I immediately felt comfortable in the BMW M4 during the test. ART has been one of the big names in international racing for years. I am sure that we can achieve a lot together. Of course, we still have to gain experience compared to the renowned DTM teams, but we will work hard to continuously improve. I can't wait to compete in the DTM."

Experienced troupe on different stages
The team from Villeneuve-La-Guyard (F) was founded in 2005. ART Grand Prix is a permanent fixture in international motorsport. The team is best known for its numerous successes in various formula series up to GP2 and Formula 2.

The crew around former racing driver and current team boss Sébastien Philippe paved the way to the top for some well-known people. ART Grand Prix already competed in the DTM with Mercedes in 2015 and 2016, celebrating a total of four podium finishes.

Joint test in three weeks
In preparation for the season, ART Grand Prix and Kubica will take part in the ITR test at Hockenheim from March 16 to 19, where they will meet their new opponents for the first time.

The 2020 DTM season opener will be held at Zolder in Belgium from April 24 to 26.

Robert Kubica continues the string of GP drivers who continue their racing careers in a DTM cockpit.
