With its long straights, the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza will be the track with the highest full load on the DTM calendar.

The DTM umbrella organization ITR and the operator of the race track outside Milan have concluded a corresponding agreement. The exact date will be announced in the course of the publication of the 2020 DTM calendar in October.

Stronghold of Formula 1
The high-speed circuit in the Royal Park of Monza is one of the oldest race tracks in Europe. Since the first Formula 1 World Championship was held in 1950, it has been part of the Grand Prix calendar every year with just one exception. Next weekend, the Gran Premio d'Italia will be held in Monza for the 84th time.

Experience for all
For the umbrella organization ITR and the brands involved in DTM - Aston Martin, Audi and BMW - Italy is an important market. The appearance at the country's most famous circuit in conjunction with the catchment area of the Milan metropolis is to help raise the level of awareness of DTM in Italy. An event is planned that is not only intended for motorsport fans, but should provide an unparalleled experience for all visitors.

Third Swiss "home race
Monza will be the fourth Italian venue in the history of the DTM. The racing series, which recently celebrated its 500th race at the Lausitzring, has already hosted Misano (2018, 2019), Adria Raceway (2003, 2004, 2010) and Mugello (1994-1996, 2007, 2008). At the same time, Monza, depending on the route between 50 and 60 kilometers from Chiasso, is the closest circuit to Switzerland.

So in 2020, with Hockenheim (opener and finale) and this new race, Swiss fans will have three opportunities to follow Europe's most popular touring car series live without having to travel far. And it is to be hoped that Nico Müller will continue to be involved as the only Swiss DTM driver.

In 2020, the DTM cars will start in Monza for the first time. Closer to Switzerland than ever before.
