However, the 27-year-old hit a stone and had to be taken to hospital. There the all-clear was given: there seems to be no displaced fracture.
Start at the next runs not sure
To speed up the healing process, Aegerter underwent surgery. The operation was successful. At least in Jerez next weekend, the Moto2 rider will be missing. Two weeks later in Le Mans, he will also hardly be able to start. His bike will be ridden instead by the German Lukas Tulovic.
For Aegerter, the injury is a major setback. He is currently tenth in the championship. He collected a total of 16 points in the first three races of the season. He had hoped for further points in Spain and France.
