In the field of riders with their production-based race bikes, Dominique Aegerter is currently number one with the Yamaha #77.

Dominique Aegerter only returned to his best form in Sunday's second race at the varied Autodrom in Most last weekend.

Fruits of labor
On Saturday, the 30-year-old from Bern could not quite show his strength with the Yamaha YFZ R6 from Ten Kate Racing and had to settle for 4th place. The Swiss and his experienced Dutch crew studied the data carefully overnight and implemented the lessons learned exactly.

In the tenth race of the season, Domi took the lead right from the start and made everything clear with just a few laps to go, after a fierce battle for the day's win had raged beforehand.

Aegerter has already stood at the top of the Supersport podium six times in 2021 with a Ten Kate Racing team member.

Keep it up
The sixth win of the season was a great satisfaction for him and, thanks to a further 25 points, incredibly important for the championship. Aegerter now leads the championship by 37 points.

Dominique Aegerter: "We are getting stronger race by race and understand the bike better and better. I'm also getting more comfortable with each race in this series. If you don't have the best day, you immediately lose a lot of points. The competition is incredibly strong and takes advantage of every opportunity. That's why we're going to keep going day after day like we've been doing so far. We are at a very good level that allows us to fight for top positions in every session and in Superpole."

The next Supersport World Championship meeting will be held on August 21/22 at the Circuito de Navarra in Spain. This circuit is also a new addition to the race calendar for the championship with production-based racing machines.

Return to MotoE
First up for the motorcycle professional from Rohrbach after a two-month break is the fifth round of the MotoE World Cup at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. After the crash in Assen, Aegerter dropped to fourth place in the championship, 17 points behind championship leader Alessandro Zaccone from Italy.

But he is by no means beaten after his latest success, which has boosted his self-confidence.

Dominique Aegerter: "There are still three races to go. At the moment, nothing is lost as there are still 75 points up for grabs. That's why we're now fully focused on the race in Spielberg."
