Cupra: Starting signal for new Leon TCR

Cupra once again proves to be an innovator in the world of motorsport with its specially created online platform. Customers with an interest in the new Cupra Leon Competición can register now in the Pre-booking system register

Already the development of the TCR platform was a pioneering achievement and last year we presented the Cupra e-Racer, the first all-electric touring car. With this new offering, we are underlining our determination to set new standards in the racing world and we are driving forward the company's e-commerce strategy."

Next Cupra generation as the basis
The latest TCR race touring car is based on the next-generation Cupra Leon, which will also be presented in 2020. Cupra is thus bridging the gap between road and race track at an early stage.

Equipped with a new body designed for optimum aerodynamic efficiency, the Cupra Leon Competición features chassis geometry on both axles that is completely geared to kinematic aspects. Lightweight components ensure optimized weight distribution, an improved transmission and a revised 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes the touring car even more competitive thanks to its increased power output.

The electronics architecture comes 100 percent from Cupra. It is slimmer, less sensitive to faults and at the same time modularly adaptable.

In racing use from April
Development of the new TCR race car is currently in the final phase. Track tests have been underway since October in Spain, Portugal and Italy, among other places. Deliveries, which will be made exclusively at the performance brand's new headquarters, will start in April 2020.
