Now BMW has officially announced that it will launch a Heritage model with the 1.8-liter two-cylinder boxer engine "in the near future."
Red area at 5750 revolutions
The so-called "big boxer" develops 91 hp at 4750 rpm and a maximum torque of 158 Newton meters at 3000 rpm. Between 2000 and 4000 rpm there is always more than 150 Nm. The red zone of the boxer already starts at 5750 rpm.
Cardan drive with universal joint
The air/oil-cooled powertrain weighs just under 111 kilograms including the six-speed transmission and naturally aspirated system. To keep the forces in check, there will be an anti-hopping clutch. The universal joint drive is to run open, as was customary for the brand until the mid-1950s.
