He is the fifth in the team: After Rolf Reding, Joshua Reynolds, Lukas Eugster and Mario Koch, Raphael Feigenwinter has now also confirmed a racing program for 2018. He made this public on his Facebook page yesterday. All of them were part of the first Swiss Race Academy in 2017, which sent eight finalists into the battle for the Junior Mountain Championships.

The 23-year-old father of a young son drives the yellow Honda Integra Type R from the SuperSeries group in which Giuliano Piccinato won the Hillclimb Cup title last year. Feigenwinter comes from Therwil BL, Piccinato is at home in Bättwil SO, which is practically next door.

Raphael Feigenwinter: "I'm looking forward to the upcoming races with a lot of joy and motivation. I'm looking forward to competing with Rolf Reding and Mario Koch again. The mountain is calling!"

Three in the same class
As a reminder: Reding is the first driver ever to enter a rear-wheel drive Toyota GT86 in the SuperSeries up to two liters. And Koch is driving the former Honda Integra of oldie Oski Kuhn, who in turn is switching to the SuperSeries Competition with a Peugeot 208 GTi.

To practice for the mountain season, which begins on June 9/10 in Hemberg, Feigenwinter will compete in a few slaloms - just like Koch and Reding. They will meet next Sunday in Frauenfeld - seven and a half months after Reding won the Junior Mountain Championship final on the Gurnigel. The duels can go on...
