Energy from motor-generator units
The Dakar Audi has an all-electric drive with two motor-generator units (MGU) from Formula E. The high-voltage battery developed by Audi Sport is charged while driving via an energy converter consisting of the TFSI engine from the DTM and another MGU.

Intensive testing with all three teams
All three Audi Sport driver teams were in action in Aragon. Dakar record winner Stéphane Peterhansel and his co-driver Edouard Boulanger made the start.

Mattias Ekström and Emil Bergkvist took over the Audi RS Q e-tron for the next two tests. At the end of the intensive testing, it was the turn of Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz.

Next test in September in dunes

Carlos Sainz, representing his driver colleagues: "It was the first real test under - let's say - real conditions. I had a good feeling right from the start and am very pleased with how the car is already behaving. Of course, there's still a lot of detail work to be done - but the basis is right."

Development engineer Arnau Niubó Bosch: "The focus of this test was on driving as much as possible and identifying weak points. The next test in September will be the first time we take to the dunes."
