Aston Martion's promotional video clearly shows what awaits competitors and what viewers can expect.
In the Swiss representation of the sporty noble brand, R-Motorsport Team Principal and co-owner of AF Racing AG Dr. Florian Kamelger and his business partner Dr. Andreas Bänziger presented a fancy, artfully designed model of the Aston Martin Vantage DTM. The reason: The actual race car will be on display a week later at the first joint ITR test drives of all brands in Jerez.
Florian Kamelger: "The short development time available to us is demanding for our project team, which is managed by Vynamic, the joint venture between AF Racing and HWA. We have pulled out all the stops to ensure that the Aston Martin Vantage DTM can celebrate its racetrack debut in Jerez, Spain, in the first week of March."
David Coulthard presented the drivers
The launch event focused on the drivers, who appeared together for the first time and answered questions from former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard Medien. Their answers in a brief summary: "I was convinced by the progress of the," explains Paul Di Resta. And further: "Never before has a new DTM vehicle been developed in a shorter time."
Daniel Juncadella commented: "The car will look great, a real eye-catcher. Jake Dennis followed suit: "I can't wait to get out on the track for the first time. And youngster Ferdinand Habsburg from Austria was more modest: "I've got a lot of learning to do. That's why it's all about getting to know the car as quickly as possible and gaining experience."
Enrichment of the DTM
Asked about his impression of the team's performance and prospects, David Coulthard added: "R-Motorsport's DTM project is highly professional and the Aston Martin Vantage DTM cars are a great asset to the series. I see no reason why the team shouldn't be competitive right from the start."
