The Federal Council and the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH had announced on March 6 further measures in connection with the spread of the coronavirus. Auto Sport Schweiz has also reacted to the stricter guidelines and is therefore canceling all training courses, courses and training until the end of March in order to protect all persons from the risk of infection and quarantine.
Specifically, five events are affected. Anyone who already held an official's license in 2019, whether as race director, sports and technical commissioner or marshal, should be able to have it renewed for 2020. The two organizer meetings in German-speaking Switzerland and French-speaking Switzerland are also cancelled.
Only Gollion takes place
For all other courses, especially where Auto Sport Schweiz is not the organizer, the respective organizers must decide how to deal with the current situation.
The Association Suisse des Organisateurs de Rallye (AOR for short) has made such a decision and decided to hold the officials training they organize on Saturday, March 14, in Gollion. This was confirmed to ASS by organizer Jean-Pascal Rey. The course will start at 7:30 am. Door opening is from 7 am.
Race organizers await new decisions and measures
As AutoSprintCH learned, the race directors of the Slalom-SM opener on April 4 in Interlaken (ACS Bern), the newly planned and license-free Slalom and Sprint on April 18/19 in Lignières (TCS and Swiss Legends Racing) and the Auto-Renntage Frauenfeld on April 25/26 are waiting for further politically imposed conditions. This is likely to happen this week and will have corresponding consequences. Preparations for the Critérium Jurassien on April 17/18 also continue unabated.
The ACS Mitte, on the other hand, has already canceled its 55th Reitnau hill climb on June 28.
Austria trades
In neighboring Austria, the popular Rechbergrennen on April 25/26 (2nd round of the European Mountain Championship) with the expected Swiss participation by Marcel Steiner and Ronnie Bratschi and the opener of the also popular Bergrallyecup in Pöllauberg on March 28 have already been canceled.
In France, the first regional hill climbs and rallies have already taken place. The first round of the French hillclimb championship at Bagnols-Sabran on the first weekend in April and the second round at Col St-Pierre, which should open the European Hillclimb Championship in 2020, are also on the schedule. However, since the Italians are not allowed to leave, the FIA would actually have to help decide whether this predicate.
