After winning last year's Formula 3 European Championship title, Mick Schumacher has not yet contested a single Formula 2 race. Nevertheless, he is already allowed to test in Formula 1. The son of the seven-time world champion, who turned 20 on March 22, will be allowed to drive next week following the Bahrain GP, first in the Ferrari SF90 on Tuesday and then in the current C38 from Alfa Romeo Racing and Sauber from Hinwil on Wednesday.

Member of the Ferrari Junior Program
The junior with the famous name, who was born and lives on Lake Geneva, belongs to the Ferrari Driver Academy, as does Callum Illot, who will also be allowed to take part in the Rookie Test. The test is therefore not just a pleasing act of youth development, but further proof of the close partnership between Alfa/Sauber and Ferrari, which will undoubtedly attract huge global media attention.

Grade gauge for Delétraz and Boschung
Before that, Schumacher Jr. wants and needs to prove that he has inherited his father's talent, which extends to Formula 1, at the two opening races for FIA Formula 2 in Bahrain and afterwards. In the second highest racing car class, the German will be driving for the Italian Prema Racing team, while the Briton will be driving for the newly formed Sauber Junior Team by Charouz Racing from the Czech Republic.

Two of his opponents are Louis Delétraz from Geneva (with start number 1) and Ralph Boschung from Valais.
