ADAC TCR Germany: Jasmin Preisig in the Opel Astra TCR

Swiss driver Jasmin Preisig joins the field of drivers in the ADAC TCR Germany in 2016. The 23-year-old will remain loyal to Opel and will compete in the Astra TCR. "It will definitely be a tough season, but one in which I will gain a lot of experience," said Preisig. Her goal is to finish in the top 10. In preparation for [...]

Jasmin Preisig is "more than satisfied" with third place in the VLN Opel Astra OPC Cup.

In preparation for the upcoming season, Preisig's plan primarily includes strength and endurance training. After that, the aim is to collect as many kilometers as possible. "After the roll-out of the new race car, I will of course train as often as possible with the new Opel Astra TCR to prepare myself for the new challenge," Preisig said.

Successful VLN season
In 2015, Preisig was racing in the Opel Astra OPC Cup in the VLN: "We never thought we would be able to finish the season in the top 3. Of course, that made it all the more gratifying to know that we were able to compete for the title."

The Nordschleife in particular was a tough nut to crack for Preisig "at the beginning... it's not called the Green Hell for nothing! But we were able to improve with each race and finished on the podium three times. We are happy and incredibly proud to finish the season in 3rd place in the OPEL Astra OPC Cup," she says, summing up her season.

Preisig is currently preparing for her new challenge in the Astra TCR.

Big goals
And there is another special feature about Preisig: She not only races, but - away from the race track - works in her learned profession as a businesswoman. "Although I have sponsors, I also have to finance a large part myself. For this, I work 80% at the Appenzell Ausserrhoden compensation office during my season, and 100% in the winter," she explained. And admits: "Of course, motorsport and the office are two totally different worlds! But somehow it works quite well..."

Preisig's big goal is the DTM, although the woman from Appenzell is well aware that this is anything but easy. "It's a long and difficult road, but who knows, maybe there will soon be another woman among the drivers," she says confidently.

ADAC TCR Germany
The ADAC TCR Germany is a national series that is contesting its first season in this form in 2016. TCR Germany will be on the road for six weekends as part of the ADAC GT Masters in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. In addition, there is to be a round with the TCR International Series at Oschersleben - from June 17 to 19 - in order to gain initial experience in an international comparison.
