ADAC Masters: Season takes shape 🎥

Neither the drivers nor the spectators will get their money's worth at national level this year. On the other hand, Swiss racing drivers and spectators can look forward to the races abroad. For example, the weekends organized by the ADAC with the GT Masters, GT4, TCR and Formula 4.

Start of the season in Brandenburg instead of the Czech Republic
As part of the seventh episode of the online talk show "PS on Air - The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk" On May 24, Thomas Voss, Head of Motorsport and Classics at the ADAC, presented the adjusted calendar for the 2020 racing season, which begins in the second half of the year. It will begin at the end of July at the Lausitzring in Brandenburg, where the Super Sports Car League is returning after three years. This event replaces Most in the Czech Republic.

No overlap with the 24h Spa
Like all championships, the season finale has been scheduled late and will now not take place until November 6-8 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. With the adjusted date for the races in the Magdeburger Börde, the ADAC GT Masters avoids a clash with the 24 Hours of Spa on October 24/25.

The races at Circuit Zandvoort will take place a week earlier. Due to a ban in the Netherlands, no events may be held until the end of August.

The dates of the races at the Nürburgring, Hockenheimring, Sachsenring and Red Bull Ring remain unchanged.

When the GT field starts its two races in Hockenheim, there will also be a number of Swiss drivers in the grandstands. There is a good chance that this will be the case in mid-September.

Plenty of space for spectators in Hockenheim
While no spectators are planned at the Lausitzring for the time being, the ADAC is working with the Nürburgring to determine whether and under what conditions fans will be able to watch the races live at the track in the Eifel.

There is a good chance that Swiss fans will be able to watch the "home race" in Hockenheim in person. The hygiene and distancing rules should actually be easy to comply with in the many large grandstands and, to a limited extent, in the large paddock.

Varied racing program
The ADAC TCR Germany will take part in all seven race weekends. The ADAC GT4 Germany will be involved from the race at the Nürburgring onwards. The ADAC Formula 4 will be part of the support program at all races with the exception of the Sachsenring.

The ADAC GT Masters race weekends at which the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany will be contested will be confirmed shortly.

There will still be seven events in 2020. Five of them on permanent race tracks in Germany and only two in neighboring countries.
