Rowe Racing gave BMW its 20th triumph in this race since 1970 - and KW its eighth as chassis supplier.

In a heart-stopping finale, Rowe Racing won the 48th ADAC 24-hour race Nürburgring the weekend before last. After 85 laps and with a lead of just 15.5 seconds, Dutchman Nick Catsburg drove the number 99 BMW M6 GT3 across the finish line in first place. An important contribution to this success in extremely difficult weather conditions was made by the solid piston technology from suspension manufacturer KW.

Displacement piston technology
Even under difficult conditions on the Nordschleife, the four-way power-adjustable KW-Competition racing dampers impressed with their displacement piston technology. This enables a direct response at the smallest strokes and, compared to other systems, ensures cavitation-free operation at low gas pressure.

Jürgen Wohlfarth, KW Managing Director: "In the future, we will also equip the new BMW M4 GT3 with our so-called KW Solid Piston Technology. We are already using our displacement pistons for more and more applications and are consistently adapting this racing technology for our road developments as well, such as the new KW coilover suspension Variant 5."

Convincing track record
In addition to the overall victory celebrated. Rowe Racing's triumph is the eighth overall victory for KW as a suspension supplier, following the Zakspeed win in 2002 and the successes with Manthey-Porsche in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2018. Third-placed BMW Team Schnitzer also relied on KW technology.

The following KW racing customers celebrated a total of ten victories:

  • Class AT: Four Motors Bioconcept-Car, Porsche 911 (991) GT3 Cup
  • Class Cup3: Black Falcon Team Textar, Porsche Cayman 982 GT4 CS
  • Class Cup5: Pixum CFN Team Adrenalin Motorsport, BMW M240i Racing
  • Class SP4: Scuderia Solagon e.V., BMW 325i E90
  • Class SP7: Huber Motorsport, Porsche 911 (991) GT3 Cup
  • SP9 class: Rowe Racing, BMW M6 GT3
  • Class SP-X: Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, SCG Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus
  • Class V2T: Pixum CFN Team Adrenalin Motorsport, BMW 330i G20
  • Class V3T: Team Mathol Racing e.V., Porsche Cayman S (718)
  • Class V6: Team Mathol Racing e.V., Porsche Cayman S
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus also had good experiences with the KW-Competition suspension in the new prototype.

Widely used technology
KW racing suspensions are manufactured as homologated series developments for numerous GT3, GT4, TCR and Cup cars or as individual applications.

In addition to five-way, four-way, three-way and two-way performance-adjustable dampers or with a fixed preconfigured damper setup, KW automotive puts together interesting packages. In addition to tuning and development services on the KW 7 post vehicle dynamics test bench, these also offer on-site service at the track by its engineers and technicians.
