24H Dubai: Joint start of the Porsche Juniors

SCHWEIZER TRAUMTEAM Alexander Fach and Dominik Fischli, who competed for the Swiss GT3 title as official Porsche Juniors, will start together with three other Porsche colleagues for the 24 Hours of Dubai in January.

That's what you call a healthy rivalry. In the past two seasons, Alexander Fach and Dominik Fischli battled it out for race wins and the championship title in the top GT3 class of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse. In both years, Fach retained the upper hand.

Now, the two official Swiss Porsche juniors are racing together at the end of the sponsorship program with the support of Porsche Schweiz AG.

Separate class for the new Cup Porsche
At the Dubai 24 Hours from January 13 to 15, 2022, they will share the cockpit of a latest-generation 992 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup entered by Fach Auto Tech. The organizer of the 24H Series has created a new 992 class for this purpose, which, according to the provisional starting list, includes 15 cars, so there is a big response.

Fach and Fischli know their three teammates very well. Peter Hegglin, who has already been on the podium with them, Jan Klingelnberg, who competes in the GT Open, and veteran Marcel Wagner, who is taking a break in 2021, will take turns at the wheel. Wagner has already been part of the specialist team at previous events in Dubai.

A premiere for both
For both juniors, it will be their first start in a 24-hour race. There's no question that they're looking forward to the adventure together.

Alexander Fach: "We had already talked a few times about a joint appearance and came up with the Dubai 24 Hours. We then approached some Porsche colleagues in the paddock and came up with a great team. A mega cool project."

Good investment in the sporting future
The 19-year-old from Schwyz knows the 992 GT3 Cup from the season finale of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse on November 6 in Misano, where he contested the two-hour night race with it and won it in commanding fashion following his two sprint victories and securing the championship title.

The team from Schwyz will enter the 992 GT3 Cup, which has so far only been used in the Carrera Cup and Supercup and most recently in the Misano night race, in a 24-hour race for the first time.

For the talented son of team boss Alex Fach, the start in Dubai will also be good practice with a view to the 2022 European season. The plan is to switch to the Carrera Cup Germany.

Alexander Fach: "I have to take this next step in order to develop further, even if I won't be at the top right away. Which team I drive for, my own or another, will ultimately be decided by the best package. Thanks to Dubai, the race-free winter break won't be so long."

Mutually hyped up
Of course, the first assignment at Fach Auto Tech will be exciting for Dominik Fischli. He has no problem with the defeat in the championship against Alexander, on the contrary. After all, it was also his wish to drive together with him for once.

Dominik Fischli: "I always give everything. Sometimes I was faster than Alexander in training. But on race day, he went one better. That was great for him and for me. Because without him, I wouldn't be at the current driving level, because we had pushed each other."

The Dubai 24 Hours is a colorful mix on touring cars and GT/Cup cars. In addition to Fach Auto Tech, other Swiss teams and drivers are expected at the start in mid-January 2022.
