Stefan Tanner, the technical manager at Autorama AG in Wetzikon and head of the newly founded Autorama Motorsport AG, can hardly believe his luck even weeks after the victory in Dubai.
Stefan Tanner: "We worked hard towards it and hoped it would work out. We wanted to win this race and we won it. A dream."
Teameffort
The success did not come by chance. The brand-new VW Golf GTI TCR was completely disassembled at Wolf-Power Racing in Lachen, inspected for any defects and rebuilt. The efforts paid off. The Autorama Motorsport team powered by Wolf-Racing, which emerged from Stanco & Tanner, took overall victory in the TCE 24H Series classification and the TCR class with Yannick Mettler, Fabian Danz, Jérôme Ogay and Tanner himself, as well as German Marlon Menden.
Stefan Tanner: "We had a good car, a super chassis engineer in Adrian Wolf, and we drivers stuck to the strategy and made no mistakes. And when the leading Audi got a bad problem, we were in front - everything fit."
Future plans
The next race planned is the 12 Hours of Mugello on March 29/30, for which Autorama Motorsport is still looking for drivers. The team then plans to contest the other endurance races that are part of the intercontinental 24H Series.
