The focus from a Swiss perspective was on the three TCR cars from Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing and the Cupra from Topcar Sport. The category win in the touring cars, however, went to the Cupra team from Red Camel-Jordans.nl.

Bad luck for the leading Honda
The Honda Civic FK7 TCR from Brutal Fish by KCMG seemed to have this one within reach. However, in the final 30 minutes of the two-part race - four hours on Friday and eight on Saturday - a technical problem occurred, after which the car rolled out on the track.

After the car had been towed back to the pits, a quick "reset" could be made there, whereupon the third and first podium place in the 24H Series still looked out for the team from Hong Kong.

While many championships are still suspended or have not even started yet, the 24H Series in Monza already started for the third round of the season. A Renault R.S. 01 started from pole position (Photos: Petr Fryba/24H Series).

Luck in misfortune for Born and Mettler
There was also drama towards the end for the second-placed Autorama team of Miklas Born, Constantin Kletzer and Yannick Mettler. Kletzer's accident damaged the left front of the VW Golf TCR, necessitating another pit stop in the final 20 minutes of the race.

However, the trio had a sufficient cushion so that second place in class and thus the third TCR podium in a row in the current season were no longer in jeopardy. For Basel junior Miklas Born, this already meant the third podium after Dubai and Portimão.

The Swiss team leads the overall touring car standings by twelve points over the Monza winners from the Netherlands.

Fabian Danz, Young Driver Karen Gaillard and German Loris Prattes brought their Cupra TCR from Topcar Sport over the distance in fifth position. The second Autorama Golf of Sandro Pelatti, Alberto Vescovi, Roberto Ferri and Yannick Mettler finished sixth.

Class victory for the third Autorama team
A victory landed the first-time third Autorama team in the separate class TCX. After losing almost 30 minutes of time at the beginning of the day, Luigi, Armando and Dario Stanco with the Seat Leon Cup Racer V1 showed a strong race to catch up, which was rewarded with the jump to the top step of the podium.

Their two opponents were a BMW E46 M3 and a Ligier JS2 R set way back after initially leading the entire touring car field with electrical and shifting problems.

Coached by Autorama Motorsport, the Stanco family drove an older Seat Leon to victory in the TCX class.

Drama surrounding the triple Herberth-Porsche success
In an incredible finale, the three Porsche 911 GT3 R cars of Herberth Motorsport settled the triple success of the East German team among themselves in the longest race ever held at the Autodromo of Monza.

Around ten minutes before the end, the sports car driven by Daniel Allemann, Ralf Bohn, Robert Renauer and Alfred Renauer came to a halt in the Variante del Rettifilo after the quartet had overtaken the sister car shortly before in the battle for the lead. As a result, the lead and victory went to their teammates Jürgen Häring, Taki Konstantinou and double starter Alfred Renauer.

With the two fastest lap times of the entire race, Porsche works driver Klaus Bachler reduced the gap to the front runners to less than half a minute by the time the chequered flag fell.

As three weeks earlier in Portugal, the Herberth Porsche with start number #92 won the race.

Only third place overall for Daniel Allemann
Despite the almost unbelievable bad luck, the Porsche driven by Daniel Allemann from Solothurn had completed a sufficient distance to still be classified third.

The next endurance race in the 24H Series powered by Hankook is the 24H Barcelona from September 4 to 6.
