In 2016, Fabrice, Patrick, Thomas and Usha started with a lot of dedication and heart and soul to convert Swiss Post vehicles into campervans. They rent and sell these - as each of the vehicles has a yellow paint job - under the name Yellowcamper.
Expansion to five new Swiss locations
Two years ago, the team entered the rental business with an initial fleet of six former postal vehicles. As the vehicle fleet grew, so did the company. In addition to Bern and Rohrbach, new pick-up locations were opened in Zurich, Lucerne and Basel. At the end of the season, all vehicles are sold and the proceeds invested in new campers.
Vehicles with comfort but without frills
The Bern-based start-up rents out cleverly designed campers that are supplied with electrical energy via solar power, for example for the refrigerator and USB charging sockets - vehicles with comfort, but no frills. For 2018, Yellowcamper has 30 brand new vehicles on offer. Features include a kitchen with two-burner stove, refrigerator and fresh water tank, air conditioning, a 4 kW parking heater and a rearview camera.
