According to Ralf Haller, founder of Electric Brands AG, the presentation of the near-production XBus prototype marks the beginning of the revolution in the future class of light vehicles.
The 3.96-meter-long, electrically powered commercial vehicle weighs less than 600 kilograms, can transport up to three people and carry a load of up to 1000 kilograms. With a peak output of 56 kW, it can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h.
Ralf Haller: "If we look at the growing traffic density, ever larger cars cannot be the answer. We need concepts that are adaptable and sustainable."
Great variability in equipment
The XBus becomes visually changeable not only through the choice of exterior color, but also through panels in contrasting colors or in a textured look. Round LED lights at the front and rear are characteristic, the bumpers protruding and decoupled from the body.
The XBus is also a quick-change artist for trade and commerce - and a leisure vehicle. With XBus City and the XBus Offroad with more ground clearance, there are two chassis to choose from.
Both variants are available as the basic Freedom version or with eight optional modules. These can be exchanged easily and in a short time.
From bus to pickup to dump truck
The rear cabin module creates a classic bus with two side doors and a tailgate. With the center module and tilt module, the XBus becomes a versatile transporter, and with the high box body, a delivery van. The rear cab and pick-up flaps create a double cab with a short loading area.
Small camper for two people
The XBus can even be a convertible. In the Open variant, the driver's and rear roofs have a convertible function, and the rear window can be removed. Camping modules 1 and 2 create a small camper for two. The retractable pop-up roof offers full standing height.
ElectricBrands will produce the XBus in Itzehoe from mid-2022. The starting price is expected to be less than 20,000 euros for the basic version.
