VW Junior Masters Switzerland: Victory for FC Basel

In exciting games the players fought for the victory in the national final tournament of the Volkswagen Junior Masters in the area of FC Rothrist. After the current success of FC Basel's senior team, the juniors now also prevailed and beat FC St.Gallen with a commanding 4:1. Third place went to the junior team of GCZ. The Volkswagen Junior World Masters is played at international level in World and European Championship years.

Teams from all over the world play for the title
In 2016, the national winners from Argentina, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Mexico, the Netherlands, Austria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the USA took part. In cooperation with "terre des hommes", Volkswagen also invited a team from a Brazilian favela and one from Senegal to Paris in collaboration with the "YOU Foundation". The group draw was made by former French international Jean-Pierre Papin. The finalists were honored by UNESCO Special Ambassadors Dr. Ute Ohoven and Sandra Waidelich.
