Toyota Yaris Cross
At the Locarno Film Festival, the Yaris Cross is shown to the Swiss public for the first time.

The Locarno Film Festival returns to its original formula under new artistic director Giona A. Nazzaro. In addition to the welcome return of familiar formats, there are novelties, such as the competition Corti d'Autore, in the section Pardi di Domani. Plus a program for the youngest, Locarno Kids: Screenings.

Focus on reducing emissions
Once again, international stars are expected and a large number of world premieres will be shown. The partnership between Toyota and the Locarno Film Festival is all about sustainability and innovation.

Both the festival and Toyota strive for continuous improvement. At Toyota, reducing emissions has been deeply embedded in the company for decades.

Contribution to the climate neutrality of the event

Christian Künstler, Managing Director Toyota AG: "We are very proud that we have been Official Car Provider of the Film Festival Locarno for 16 years with our hybrid technology and can thus make an important contribution to the climate neutrality of the event. In addition, we are presenting an absolute highlight this year with the Toyota Yaris Cross."

Total power of the system is 116 hp
Like the Yaris compact car, the SUV is also based on the so-called New Global Architecture B platform and will initially be launched with the hybrid drive familiar from the Yaris.

The combustion engine is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with 80 hp, while the total output of the hybrid system is 116 hp. According to WLTP, average consumption should be around five liters per 100 kilometers.

With intelligent all-wheel drive on request
An intelligent all-wheel drive system is optionally available for the small SUV. It is called AWD-i and drives the front axle or all four wheels depending on the driving conditions - the change is automatic.

In addition, there are two manually selectable driving modes: off-road and snow. A CVT automatic takes over the shifting work.
