TCS: Jürg Wittwer becomes new General Manager

The Board of Directors of the Touring Club Switzerland has elected Jürg Wittwer as its new General Manager. The 49-year-old Zurich native will take up his new post on July 1. Jürg Wittwer is an economist with many years of experience in the areas of assistance and insurance business on a national and international level. He managed travel insurance companies in Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and the USA. He then served for many years as CEO of Mondial Assistance Switzerland (formerly ELVIA) and as a member of the Executive Board of Allianz Suisse with management responsibility for the entire sales organization. Most recently, he was a partner at Acredis AG.

A strong and pragmatic leader
TCS Central President Peter Goetschi explains: "Jürg Wittwer has many years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the assistance business. As a strong and pragmatic leader, he is ideally equipped to manage a company with 1600 employees that generates sales of CHF 350 million. As operational head, he will be tasked with taking on the challenges of competition, working with the sections to expand services for TCS members and leading TCS into a successful future."

Jürg Wittwer is 49 years old, married, has two children and lives in Binz. The new General Manager will take up his post on July 1, 2016.
