Easter traffic jam: Swatch action at the Gotthard

SWATCH ...und es isch gälb! Or grüen? Or is it Christa Rigozzi? Who doesn't know it: standing in a traffic jam at the Gotthard before going on vacation or the long Easter weekend. Swatch used the usual traffic jam break at the Gotthard for a special promotion at the Erstfeld rest stop with a new watch model and surprises.

The avalanche of cars stops at no one and pushes forward at a leisurely pace meter by meter - or even stops on the spot more often than not. The watch manufacturer Swatch found a remedy!

Special watch model created
To bridge the boredom in the car, the Swiss watch manufacturer dedicated a special watch to the longest road tunnel in the Alps. With "STAU" you always keep an eye on the time and thanks to the funny packaging you get a pastime right along with it. Because on its back are four games adapted to the country's regions, which can be played for hours on end in a traffic jam (if it's "stuck" again...) without any other aids.

Packing as a base for games
Colorful road signals on the front show where to go. The gray and white tunnel view design of the dial recalls the exact tunnel length of 16.91 km and corresponds to the number of 1691 pcs. of this limited special. So the journey into pleasure could start and nothing stood in the way of the trip from the canton of Uri to Ticino! But stop! Before the slow meandering through the traffic jam began, a stopover at the Gotthard service area in Erstfeld on April 13, 2017 was a must for many. As is well known, luck travels with you. Swatch and Christa Rigozzi cheered up tired drivers and fellow travelers with this successful event.
