Yves Grubenmann from Dreispitzgarage AG in Uesslingen/TG achieved an outstanding second place.
From 16 countries
Champions from 16 countries competed for the world championship title at the Subaru Academy headquarters. The candidates had to prove their skills in challenging and complex tasks. On the first day, 40 theoretical test tasks had to be solved within 60 minutes.
Practical knowledge in demand
The technicians then had to locate two electrical faults on prepared vehicles within 30 minutes. The candidates were tested on the continuously variable Subaru Lineartronic automatic transmission to see whether they were able to carry out overhauls on the complex units. The supreme discipline, the 50-minute "vehicle-on-board diagnostics", was mastered brilliantly by the Swiss Yves Grubenmann. After around 15 minutes, Yves Grubenmann was the first to start the engine. Shortly before the specified time expired, he marked the last of the three faults. Apart from him, none of the 15 other candidates managed this.
