RAID: Classic car weekend with all the trimmings
FASCINATING ROMANDE Once again, a vintage car ride in a relaxed atmosphere and in particularly beautiful places in Western Switzerland is just around the corner. The upcoming Belmont Raid Suisse starts on Saturday, May 20.
This year's RAID Suisse will start at an unusual location, in the middle of Switzerland, at Grenchen Airport, the third largest airfield in Switzerland. In this special environment, automotive culture meets the culture of aviation. The oldest cars of the Belmont Raid Suisse will be parked in front of vintage aircraft. For all RAID cars, the airfield, easily accessible from all areas of Switzerland via the highway, offers a special setting.
Hardly any construction sites, beautiful landscapes
On the routes of the RAID you then discover a western Switzerland with few construction sites and landscapes that are not walled. You discover villages and areas with romantic names like Le milieu du monde, you spend the night in the comfortable Hotel Mövenpick in Lausanne-Ouchy, directly on the lake. After two interesting days of rallying, you reach your destination: the Place Publique in the Tissot Arena in Biel. This is also where the awards ceremony takes place.
Bookings possible with or without hotel
The Belmont RAID Suisse can also be booked without a hotel package. In this case, you get a discount of 200 francs. And for those who want to arrive the evening before, the Airporthotel in Grenchen is a good address - directly at the starting point. Participation costs 2200 Swiss francs for two people in a double room, and the registration deadline is April 15, 2023.
