Race Inn: New start of the motorsport meeting 🎥
LIFE CONTINUES Actually, discounter Lidl Switzerland wanted to build a new goods distribution center on the Gugelmann site in Roggwil. To the delight of Swiss motorsport fans, nothing came of it.
The Race-Inn is with asphalt track of 640 meters the longest indoor kart track in Switzerland.
The Race-Inn will live on! The reason: 500 people at a community meeting in Roggwil rejected an amendment to the zoning plan for the Brunnmatt site by only seven votes.
Fears due to increased traffic
The strongest criticism from opponents was the additional traffic expected in the community and surrounding towns as a result of the distribution center.
Supermoto, moped and pit bike riders
This means that the project for a Lidl distribution center in Roggwil, Bern, is effectively dead. The major retailer will have to look for another location.
While the local council mourns the missed opportunity, motorsport enthusiasts are happy that the Race-Inn kart hall, which is also actively used by supermoto, moped and pit bike riders, will continue to exist.
